Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) for weight loss support
Non-urgent advice: We are awaiting further instructions from the ICB
We are currently awaiting further direction from the local Integrated Care Board and are NOT able to prescribe this to any of our patients at this time.
Please do not contact the surgery to book an appointment. Those very few patients who meet the extremely strict criteria for this treatment will be contacted directly by the surgery when this is available.
From 23 June 2025, people living with obesity and four or more diagnosed health conditions will begin to have the opportunity to access tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) for weight loss support through Primary Care services.
Access to the medication goes hand in hand with support to help with eating habits and start/improve physical activity as part of a national wrap around service. Access to prescribed weight loss medication will be predicated on a patient’s engagement with this service.
