Patient triage is the new way to request an appointment or to send an admin query to the team. You may hear people refer to this as an eConsult or an AccuRx.

What is Patient triage?
We use a software called AccuRx to triage our online medical and admin forms. It is the same system embedded into the NHS App.
Accurx is a software used by 98% of GP practices in the UK to communicate and is an approved NHS supplier. You may have already had texts from the surgery using this system or asked by a clinician to send photographs during a telephone consultation. It works with our practice computer system, SystemOne.
Accurx triage allows GP surgeries to receive information directly from a patient concerning their medical concern via an online form. These requests will be triaged by our clinical triage team which comprises of our Duty Doctor.
You may not need an appointment, you may be re-directed to services outside of the practice such as a Pharmacy, or have tests requested before you come and see clinician at the surgery.
Why is the surgery doing this?
NHS England have set out guidelines for GP surgeries to increase online consultation services. Accurx is a proven and effective system which aids us as a practice to improve patient care and your journey with us.
When did it start? When can I access the form?
The system came into effect from Monday 03rd June 2024.
What times of day is the form available?
Our admin form is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our medical form is available:
- Monday to Thursday 6am to 5pm
- Fridays 6am to 5pm
The surgery is still open until 6.30pm
Do I need to download anything or have a password? No. You do not need to download a special application or have a username and password to use this form. The form will work through the NHS App, if you have this set up.
You can find the link to our form on the Home page of our website and the Appointment page.
Can a friend, relative, or carer do the form for me?
Yes. On the form, there is a box where we ask you if the form is being completed by somebody else. Please note that we will only be able to reply back to yourself regarding your care as the patient unless there is confirmed consent on your medical record.
I have received an invitation from the surgery to book in for an appointment. Do I still need to fill out a form?
No. If you have received a message to book a yearly check, then please contact the surgery as advised in that invitation to arrange an appointment.
