My special interests in the practice are diabetes, general medicine and medical education. I am one of the trainers at the practice responsible for teaching future GPs. Outside interest include playing music and mountain biking. I work as a job share with my wife, Dr Jane Jenkinson and generally work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Trainee GP Registrars
We are a training practice for GP Registrars. A GP Registrar is an experienced doctor who has decided to specialise in general practice to become a GP. The Registrar is fully supervised by one of our qualified doctors. You will be told when you book your appointment if you are seeing the Registrar. You may choose to see a GP instead. The practice is inspected for training which involves examination of medical records. Only approved doctors will do this and they will respect the confidentiality of all information. The Registrar is usually based in the practice initially for a few months and then they return for a longer period at a later date.

Physician’s Associates are medically trained, generalist healthcare professionals, who work alongside doctors and provide medical care as part of the multidisciplinary team. Physician Associates work with medical support and cannot prescribe but are able to make assessments and get help from a GP if prescriptions are needed

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) can diagnose, prescribe medication, and refer to other services / hospital.
KERIE HENLEY
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
As an ANP, Kerie has a Masters degree. She is happy to see Adults, children, and babies who have had their 6 week check with a GP. She can do medication reviews. She can see patients for low mood anxiety but not complex mental health disorders. She cannot see pregnant women. She cannot issue Sick Notes. Kerie has an interest in community care and advanced care planning particularly for frail and elderly patients. She looks after patients at a local care homes Kerie should be used like a Doctor. She is NOT part of the Nursing Team at Charter and should not be booked for routine Practice Nurse appointments.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Clare has a Masters Level PG Diploma in Advanced Practice Health and can see patients from 18yrs onwards. Clare can diagnose, prescribe and refer and can issue sick notes. She can not see patients who are pregnant or have serious mental illness but can otherwise be booked into like a GP. Clare is not part of the Charter Nurse Team so should NOT be booked for routine Practice Nurse appointments.

Natalie has a Masters Level PG Diploma in Advanced Practice Health and can see patients from 2yrs onwards. Natalie can diagnose, prescribe and refer and can issue sick notes. She can not see patients who are pregnant or have serious mental illness but can otherwise be booked into like a GP. Natalie is not part of the Charter Nurse Team so should NOT be booked for routine Practice Nurse appointments.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with Masters Degree.. We are delighted Jo has re-joined us in January 2022. Jo can see Adults and children,. She can see babies AFTER they have had their 6 week check with a GP. Jo cannot issue Sick Notes, treat pregnancy related problems or treat serious mental /emotional health problems. Jo should be used like a Doctor. She is NOT part of the Nursing Team at Charter and should not be booked for routine Practice Nurse appointments.

As an ANP, Lara has a Masters degree. She is happy to see Adults, children, and babies who have already had their 6 week check with a GP. She can diagnose, prescribe and refer and should be used like a Doctor except for Sick Notes / Pregnant women / Mental and emotional problems. Lara also looks after patients at local care homes. She is NOT part of the Nursing Team at Charter and should not be booked for routine Practice Nurse appointments.
Charter Medical Clinical Pharmacy Team
Our Clinical Pharmacy Team do not work for the Charter Pharmacy on site. This is operated by Ackers.
The surgery employs a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Clerks to help manage our patients’ prescription requests, medication reviews and changes efficiently and safely. Our Clinical Pharmacist also sees patients for some Annual Reviews of long term conditions such as Diabetes and Hypertension.

Practice Clinical pharmacists are highly qualified experts in medicines and can help people in a range of ways. This includes carrying out structured medication reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and improving patient safety, outcomes and value through a person-centred approach.

Senior Practice Clinical Pharmacist
In addition to her Clinical Pharmacist qualifications, Rebecca will shortly complete her Masters Degree as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Rebecca manages the Practice Clinical Pharmacy Team to ensure that your medications are reviewed and are kept up to date, for instance after a stay in hospital. Rebecca also does some telephone and face to face reviews for patients with long term conditions such as diabetes. She will soon start to see a wider range of patients.

Our Nursing Team is made up of Practice Nurses (qualified and registered nurses) together with Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomist who does Blood Tests. Our Nursing Team can help with a wide range of health issues and also run clinics for long-term health conditions.

Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants (HCAs) support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (Blood Tests), blood pressure measurement and New Patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor asks for one. Phlebotomists are trained to take blood.
