Appointments
Telephone
770555
Routine appointments may be made by
telephoning the practice or by
calling in to reception. Most
appointments are ten minutes long
but five minute appointments are
also available. Most routine
appointments are booked up to one
week in advance. Some clinics, such
as the cardiac clinics or diabetes
clinics are an
exception to this.
Reception staff are available to
make appointments by telephone
between 8.00am - 12 noon and 1.30 -
6.30pm. Appointments can be made at
reception throughout the day.
Consultation Times
Consultation times vary for each
doctor and nurse.
Doctors are generally available in
the morning and late afternoon,
although lunchtime and late evening
appointments are available.
Touch Screen Booking-in
When you arrive for your
appointment, you do not need to
queue for the receptionist to book
you in. There is a touch screen at
the front desk which will allow you
to check in for your appointment by
entering a few details.
Please note that you need to follow
the on-screen instructions carefully
to ensure you are checked in.
Patients arriving late may be
directed to the receptionist. If
another patient with the same date
of birth has an appointment near
your appointment time, you may be
asked to see the receptionist to
ensure you are correctly checked in.
Telephone CONSULTATIONS
Following a
number of
requests, we
have introduced
a new service
for our
patients.
You can now book
an appointment
to talk to a
doctor or nurse
at a specific
time. We have
set up this
service to give
our patients
more
flexibility. You
can arrange to
speak to a
doctor or nurse
when at work or
unable to leave
the house, for
example if you
have childcare
difficulties.
If you think
your
consultation
could take place
over the
telephone,
please ask
reception for a
telephone
appointment. You
will be given a
specific time,
usually either
late morning or
early afternoon.
Please note that
these
consultations
are not suitable
if there is any
reason for the
doctor or nurse
to examine you.
They are also
not suitable for
routine
prescription
requests or for
new sick
certificate
requests.
